The Troy Historic Preservation Alliance on December 22, 2023, completed its purchase of the IOOF Building/old Miami County courthouse at 112-118 W. Main Street.

The purchase was part of an agreement that settles a lengthy legal battle over the building's fate. As part of the agreement, THPA has until April 30, 2024 to make certain repairs to stabilize the building.

On November 4, 2023 we were honored to host NY times bestselling author Gregory May talking about his new book, "A Madman's Will" We were fortunate to be able to have this event in the former Trinity Church, now a beautiful venue known as The 1833.

Mr. May shared the story of the Randolph Freed People, one of the largest manumissions in American history prior to the Emancipation Proclamation and their journey to obtain their freedom.

Thank you to all who donated and/or bought the awesome items we had for sale!  we are also very thankful to the First Presbyterian church for opening their arms and doors to us in order to have the sale. Volunteers are essential to the success of fundraising events for THPA. With the help of passionate volunteers, we had a successful introduction as a vendor at the Troy Strawberry Festival! We are incredibly grateful for the dedication and hard work of our volunteers, and we are looking forward to the next fundraising event
